Just a reminder, tomorrow is opening day of Red Snapper Season! I have openings for my afternoon trip tomorrow and I am open for a private trip or shared expense trips, morning and afternoon, for Thursday, which ever books first.

The Red Snapper season is set for June 1^st to July 18^th at this time, just 48 days. There is a very good possibility we will get some additional days of Red Snapper Season this year but we don’t know when. I will let you know as soon as I find out something.

Check out this "Oar Fish" we caught 140 miles offshore this past weekend. We were fishing the Mobile Big Game Club Memorial Day Tournament.We tagged a @Blue Marlin, missed a White @Marlin and caught some #Tuna, @Dolphin and @Wahoo. Nothing real big but we did win 13K for Tag and a 94 pound @Tuna. We had a great time and made some new friends. Thanks to Allen, Ricky and the rest of the gang for booking The @Annie Girl!

We had another great day on the gulf of mexico. The fish gods were smiling on us again. We caught lots of @vermilion snapper and some beautiful @triggerfish. Met some real nice people today on this @6 hours shared expense trip. I hope you can join us 1 day. Had a great shared expenses 8 hour trip today! We caught a limit of vermilion snapper, 5 nice amberjack and a real nice mess of triggerfish. Of course we caught and released about 100 red snapper up to 20 pounds. Let's get another trip up. forecast is great for the next couple of days and the fish are biting.

We are on our way out on a 8 hour shared expense trip.

We have made some improvements to our web site including an online calendar!

Shared expense trip this Saturday!

I know its short notice but i have 3 people intrested in a shared expense trip of some kind this Saturday. Their interested in a 10 hour shared expense trip but would consider something shorter or longer.
The marine forecast looks good. 2 to 3 foot seas. Lets go fishing!

Hello Fellow Fisherman

The following is a list of “shared expense trips” that I have set aside for booking.

May 21^st and 22^nd

Overnight Combination Bottom Fishing/Big Game Fishing.

This trip will depart @ 6:00 am Saturday May 21^st and return the

afternoon of Sunday May 22^nd.

We will fish our way offshore targeting a verity of reef fish. Sometime that afternoon we will arrive at one of the deep water oil rigs, “Beer Can, Patronus, Marlin or Ram Powell” and fish for Marlin, Tuna Wahoo and Dolphin. We will spend the night in this area and fish here the next morning. Mid morning or so we will fish our way back home.

Cost: $700.00 per person based on 10 passengers.

Tips for the mates and fish cleaning included.

Subject: Shared Expense/Walk on Trips

Hello Again Fellow Fisherman

As an attempt to help some of you get your “Fishing Fix” in this down economy, I am putting together a shared expense/walk on charter option. Here is a detailed explanation on how these trips will work.

A shared expense trip is a charter made up of individuals and/or small groups that don’t have enough people to charter the boat privately by themselves.

I will set aside a few dates for a certain type of trip. I will include all of the details about that trip. I will send this information to my fishing club members, facebook followers; post it on my blog @ http://anniegirlcharters.blogspot.com/  and on my website @ mike@captainmikesfishing.com. People interested in booking a spot on one of these trips can confirm their space by calling or emailing. Payment in full must be received to confirm.

A dead line for filling the trip will be set. At the dead line, if all spots are not confirmed, we will contact all of the people that are confirmed for that trip and see if they want to pitch in more money to cover the spot or spots that have not been filled. If all spots are not paid in full at the time of the dead line, the trip will be canceled and all money will be refunded.

Once a trip is full and confirmed, we will notify everyone on that trip. There is a 21 day cancelation policy.

These trips will be treated the same way as a private charter. I will not overload the boat. Day fishing trips will be limited to 12 passengers and overnight trips will be limited to 10 passengers.

We will fish as a team. In other words, all fish caught will go into the fish box and when we get back to the dock all of the fish will be cleaned by the deck hands and all fish will be divided equally.

Tips for the mates and fish cleaning will be included in your price.

If you have at least 6 people that are interested in booking a particular open date, I will post that trip to attract enough other people to fill the trip.

Hello Again Fellow Fisherman

Thank you all for your response to my survey. It was good to listen to your thoughts. As I suspected, the economy is the #1 factor responsible for my business being down. And of course I am not in that boat alone. “Pun Intended”

Obviously the cost to access the sea that we love and what lives there is not cheap. Gas and groceries must come before fishing, for most of us anyway.

How can I help?

I have not and will not raise my prices this year.

With the spike in the cost of fuel, most business that are fuel dependent are charging a fuel surcharge. I will absorb that cost and pull the throttles back a little to help conserve fuel.

Fuel surcharge will still apply to Tournaments and offshore trips that require us to run offshore beyond our normal range. 

I will offer more options for booking The Annie Girl!

I have built my business around full day and overnight trips. I still believe this is the best deal and these longer trips give me plenty of time to satisfy most hungry fishermen. Given the fact that money is tight and that our fishing season is split up differently this year more than ever before, I am going to offer more options to book The Annie Girl.

Half day, evening cruises, shark fishing, shared expense trips

Until this economy turns around, I am going to try and offer more affordable trips aboard The Annie Girl. In addition to our full day and overnight trips, I will be offering 4 Hour trolling, 6 and 8 Hour bottom fishing, afternoon and evening cocktail/sunset cruises, non fishing sight seeing/Booze cruises and shared expense/walk on trips.

Hello to all of the Annie Girl fishing family and friends.  Hope this spring finds everyone well. 

 Our bookings for charters on the Annie Girl are off drastically and basically I want to know why.  I believe the person to ask is you, our customer.  The variables have considered are as follows:

1. The oil spill

    A. There was no fishing in Orange Beach or tourism of any description last spring, summer, or fall, so did you find something else to do that you enjoyed and are doing that this year in lieu of returning to Orange Beach to fish?

    b. Are you thinking the jury is still out on the result of testing for possible contamination and are you uncomfortable eating seafood caught from the Gulf of Mexico?

Bp promised not to leave this area until it was “all cleaned up”. Well if we don’t have people visiting our places of business in Orange Beach it’s “not cleaned up” We really need your honest input in this survey.
