For those of you that have not already heard, here is a link to some pictures and information about the news going around about a 142 pound Wahoo that is the pending Gulf of Mexico and Texas state record. Some things are bigger in Texas.

Good Morning Fellow Fisherman

I revived the following email from a dear friend, client and fellow fisherman/woman.  She asked me to forward and post this for her. She also asked me to edit the details. I choose not to edit anything because her message is from her heart, not the details. She loves to be on the water and she wanted to share a her feelings with others like her.

Thank you Sandy!

Dear Fellow Fishing Fanatics,
My husband and I have fished many, many deep sea fishing tournaments over the past 13 years and I must say that the majority of those tournaments have been on the Annie Girl (ok, all of them have been on Annie Girl). We have been repeat customers over the years because we have been so successful in the tournaments we spend on Annie Girl and, it is always a blast to go fishing with Captain Mike, Ms. Tammy and his crew.

The main reason for our success is directly related to Captain Mike Rowell, his beautiful wife, Tammy, and his outstanding first mate, Nick, along with Annie Girls remarkable deck hands, Brent and Truiette!

To start, Annie Girl is a 64 foot custom built Resmondo Deep Sea Fishing Boat with three very comfortable staterooms (sleeps 9 adults very comfortably); 2 bathrooms with showers; a huge, beautifully decorated open salon; and a customized, fully functional kitchen. Basically, it is a "floating fishing condo", as I like to describe it to my friends and family. And that's just the inside!

Annie Girl has an extra large fishing area with plenty of room for all types of fishing including, but not limited to, Blue Marlin (actually all Marlin) Sailfish, Swordfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Ling, and assorted bottom fish such as Snapper, Grouper and Triggerfish. This is just to name a few that we, personally, have caught off the Annie Girl!

Some of my favorite features on Annie Girl, other than the Captain and crew, are the accommodations for deep sea fishing. These include the super capacity ice maker which is perfect for icing down your drinks in the large double-sided built-in ice chests and icing down your fish in the customized, built-in, super-size fish boxes. Annie Girl also features a nice fighting chair with a large turning radius to fight those big fish you'll be catching!

One of my favorite parts of deep sea fishing on Annie Girl is catching our own bait on the way out (and off the rigs) and storing them in the built-in live well. This live well is always a big hit with the kids because it is big enough for them to play with the net and trying to "catch" the bait for the deck hands. What's really nice about this option is that Nick, Brent and Truiette love to have the younger ones help. I consider this a huge entertaining activity to keep them busy while on the boat while letting them be part of the entire fishing adventure. Since we have three children that we take with us, and they have all basically grown up fishing on Annie Girl, they always love talking about helping catch the live bait (albeit out of the live well when they were very young) especially on overnight trips at the rigs!

Captain Mike fishes year-round for seasonal fishing and even travels to southern Louisiana for part of his many fishing trips. If you can think of of it, Captain Mike and his crew can do it! Their motto is, "Specializing in a Good Time!". And we have taken him up on it many, many times and have never, not once been disappointed! Can't say that about many things in life, much less about someone or such, of a group of people working together doing what they love. As for the entire Annie Girl crew, they love fishing and love sharing their passion of fishing with anyone willing!

My husband and I have also used the Annie Girl for business functions, birthday party dinner cruises, and my ultimate favorite, the Blue Angels Show Weekend in Pensacola, Florida! Catering is available for special occasions and Tammy is a gourmet chef. She makes the most wonderful recipes that will make you want to return just to eat her fine cooking!

The crew is extremely knowledgeable about bait, tackle, riggings, types of fish, and all of that other stuff they do to help us catch fish without us even knowing we didn't do anything special (they already had it ready to go and we just caught fish!) But the important thing is (at least the first 4-5 years) I thought I did it all! They are that good. And they are also wonderful instructors for first timers, young folk, or those who haven't been in a while.

I give Annie Girl Charters a "two thumbs up" because they are truly, exceptional. So if you are looking to go deep sea fishing choose Annie Girl Charters because you'll not find another crew that will aim to please like this crew!

Borrowing my best fishing buddy and very close friend Tammy's closing...

Tight Lines!

A shared expense trip is a charter made up of individuals and/or small groups that don’t have enough people to charter the boat privately by themselves.
I will set aside a few dates for a certain type of trip. I will include all of the details about that trip. I will send this information to my fishing club members, facebook followers; post it on my blog @ http://anniegirlcharters.blogspot.com/  and on my website @ mike@captainmikesfishing.com. People interested in booking a spot on one of these trips can confirm their space by calling or emailing. Payment in full must be received to confirm.

A dead line for filling the trip will be set. At the dead line, if all spots are not confirmed, we will contact all of the people that are confirmed for that trip and see if they want to pitch in more money to cover the spot or spots that have not been filled. If all spots are not paid in full at the time of the dead line, the trip will be canceled and all money will be refunded.

Once a trip is full and confirmed, we will notify everyone on that trip. There is a 21 day cancelation policy.

These trips will be treated the same way as a private charter. I will not overload the boat. Day fishing trips will be limited to 15 passengers and overnight trips will be limited to 10 passengers.

We will fish as a team. In other words, all fish caught will go into the fish box and when we get back to the dock all of the fish will be cleaned by the deck hands and all fish will be divided equally.
Note:
Tips for the mates and fish cleaning are not included in your price.
Customary tip for the deck hands is 20%. Fish Cleaning is .30 cents per pound

If you have at least 6 people that are interested in booking a particular open date, I will post that trip to attract enough other people to fill the trip.
You can use my blog to help you find other people with your same interest. http://anniegirlcharters.blogspot.com/

Thanks
Captain Mike Rowell
